Prayer and Healing Intake
Thank you for your inquiry about healing prayer. We affirm your desire to seek Jesus as your Healer. It is our desire to join Him in whatever He is doing in your life, so we begin by asking Him if and when a healing prayer appointment is most appropriate for your particular healing journey.
God heals through many forms of care, including prayer ministry, spiritual warfare, counseling, medical care, and much more. As you join us in asking God about this, please read through this brief description of healing prayer and answer the intake questions on the next page of this document. Once we receive your response, we will be praying about the next steps. We will respond back with some thoughts about how you might best seek God for healing in this area of your life and/or to set up an appointment with a healing prayer team. Thank you for inviting us to join you on this journey.
Description of Healing Prayer Ministry
Prayer Time will be scheduled for a maximum of 2 hours and will take place on the church campus in an office or meeting room.
Goal of ministry prayer time: To experience the love of the Father.
We know that God wants to heal areas of our lives that are particularly painful childhood wounds, hurtful words that have been spoken to us, or areas of our lives in which we just feel stuck. Healing prayer appointments are an opportunity to listen to what God has to say to you, particularly in painful areas.
Prior to ministry prayer time:
We will begin with a conversation using a basic questionnaire to help look for possible areas that may be creating difficulty in your life (see next page). Once we receive your initial response, we may find it helpful to respond with follow-up questions.
Ministry prayer time:
A team of 2 or 3 people will be praying with you. They will begin with simple questions about what you want Jesus to do for you. Then, they will listen to God with you and on your behalf. There will be intentional times of quiet so that everyone can invite God to respond and guide. As the Holy Spirit prompts, the team will begin praying with you. This may look like Scriptures being spoken over you, pictures or visions shared with you, additional times of quiet, some clarifying questions, and any other way that God chooses to reveal Himself. You will receive prayer that could include breaking generational sin patterns, healing for distorted images of God or self, prayer for inner healing regarding wounds of the past, forgiveness of others, breaking ties or oaths connected to the work of the enemy, deliverance from evil spirits, or other ways that God may guide us to pray. During the prayer time, we anticipate that God will also speak to you. You may not initially feel equipped to hear God, but you'll be surprised at how responsive He is when we seek Him together!
Post-ministry time:
We will suggest how you can continue walking in healing and maintain freedom. This may include reading, ways to pray and meditate, and tools for spiritual warfare. Your team may or may not recommend scheduling an additional appointment(s).
Please note: Healing Prayer is not professional counseling and is not attempting to fulfill the role of mental health professionals or physicians. In many cases, healing prayer is not the only thing required to attain the complete healing and freedom that God desires. We believe that God heals through many forms of care and that His healing work is holistic.
In the State of Washington, clergy are mandatory reporters of abuse and neglect. Since our healing prayer ministry is staff-sponsored and run, it is mandatory that we report the abuse or neglect of a person considered to be a dependent or part of a vulnerable population.
